Q. How long have
you been in the business of selling telecom trucks and equipment?
A. We are a family business, which was established in 1914 by Al Asher. We
have been selling bucket trucks and similar equipment since 1955, and have
been in the same location since that time. We have been a Telsta Lift dealer
for 25 years, and are familiar with most national selling brands of utility
trucks.
Q. What is your
facility like?
A. We have a complete restoration / reconditioning truck and equipment facility,
with full mechanized plant equipment, including a frame rack, steam rack,
and inside plant area enabling us to work on the latest style booms and truck
equipment. A well-organized and stocked parts department assists our service
facility on all of our specialized boom and body projects.
Q. Does Asher both
rent and sell trucks?
A. Yes. We sell and rent all types of trucks and equipment ranging from:
- Telsta construction and splicing bucket trucks: A-28, SU-34, SU-36, and
T-40s
- High-lift insulated buckets
- Material handlers
- Hogg-Davis cable trailers
- Hogg-Davis power cable pulling trailers
- Three-Reel cable trailers
- Champion Sewer Rodders and Rodder / Pullers
- Under-bridge inspection trucks
- Champion Scrappers
Our rental programs offer rent-to-own features for the customer, if desired,
to purchase the equipment.
Q. Can you provide
financing?
A. Yes. We provide professional finance services through our established contacts
with banks and leasing companies. We assist customers with loan applications,
finance strategies, and locating competitive rates. Whether you are local
or out-of-state, we normally can provide a qualification answer within a day
or two, with a rate quote.
Q. Does Asher perform
service and repairs on customer-owned equipment?
A. Yes we do. Our service technicians are active and familiar with a wide
variety of national brand equipment for the utility industry. Our shop management
stays up-to-date on the latest in upgrades, factory bulletin notices and service
techniques on a wide range of equipment and equipment makes.
Q. What does OSHA
boom certification mean?
A. California OSHA boom certification provides a complete safety inspection
on the truck, boom, and related hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical accessories
on the unit, by a licensed inspection company with the State of California
Department of Industrial Safety. The California OSHA requirements meet or
exceed the Federal OSHA safety requirements that apply to other states. The
inspection company will provide a detailed report, noting deficiencies and
corrections. Dielectric electrical boom testing is also done on insulated
fiberglass booms.
Q. Can you deliver
/ ship the equipment you sell?
A. Yes we can. We offer superior competitive rates across the country for
your truck delivery needs. This is accomplished through searching intensively
for back-hauls and special rate partial load haulers. All big rig haulers
are professional ICC licensed and insured.
Q. Do you offer
any warranties on your equipment?
A. Yes we do. We offer conditional warranties on all of our reconditioned
booms and equipment, whether you are a local customer or out-of-state. Ask
your Asher sales representative about the Asher extended warranty on remodeled
booms.
Q. Do you sell parts
and accessories for the equipment you sell?
A. Yes we do. We can supply hard-to-find parts for Bucket Trucks, Cable Trailers
and most other types of Telecom Equipment we sell. Asher even carries exclusive
parts like our Asher Aluminum Capstans and Outrigger Pads.
Q. Do you sell any
other types of specialized utility vehicles other than those listed on your
website?

stock hard-to-find, specialized vehicles, such as High-lift Snorkel Fire Trucks,
High Line transmission cable tensioning and pulling trailers, Chipper box
dump trucks, insulated buckets of all types, High Line Insulator Washer Booms,
